Western Red Cedar Adirondack Patio Furniture is the most popular design at Dan’s Outdoor Furniture. Classic look and unparalleled comfort is handcrafted of 100% Western Red Cedar. No-one can argue that just seeing an Adirondack chair will bring back memories of vacations and memories of years gone back.
Although the chairs today are new, they are still styled after the classic pattern of years ago. Although they sit lower to the ground than any average chair, they offer a comfort not found in any other chair. As you sit back into the Adirondack Chair you still sit straight but yet tilted back at a comfortable angle. You will not be able to slouch or have bad posture in an Adirondack Chair.
Our Adirondack collection of furniture will fit your body better than any other. Engineered to put the weight of your body in a very comfortable position, make these pieces extremely comfortable. Throw in an ottoman and relax like your in a lounger.
America’s renowned Adirondack Chair first appeared in 1903 in the Adirondacks of New York state. The original design is attributed to a Thomas Lee because he wanted a unique lawn chair for his summer home. He built numerous prototypes and tested them on his family. All of his designs were made using eleven pieces of wood, all cut from a single board, and included the wide armrests that have become one of the most notable features of the Adirondack style. His chair had a straight back and seat, which were slanted to offer better seating on the steep mountain inclines common to the area.
We have been building Adirondack furniture for over 32 years and have shipped them all over the United States direct to our customers. Ours are built of mainly 5/4×6″ Western Red Cedar and are screwed together and are solid enough to last for decades.
Our collection includes the chair, rocking chair, love seat, tete-a-tete, ottoman and oval table.
All chairs are cut out, put together, then marked and disassembled. All backs are fully assembled. Your assembly time will vary with your abilities but should be less than 20 minutes. A drill, ruler and some sandpaper are required for assembly. Detailed instructions will accompany your purchase.
